Xander holding Marissa for the first time!

Xander comparing hand sizes with Marissa

Xander stayed with my parents in Utah while we went to Ohio to get Marissa (and was spoiled beyond belief!). When he got back all he wanted to do was play XBox so completely ignored her for a day or two. The very first thing he asked when he walked in the door, was "did she mess up my cars?" When I told him no, she is too little, he went and checked them anyway and asked who touched them while he was gone because I guess they were somehow out of order (Xander is a little OCD when it comes to his cars!) We asked him if he wanted to see her, hold her, give her a kiss, anything and he would say "no, I am playing XBox." Finally after getting his "fix," he decided that it was pretty cool that he got a baby sister! My mom even bought him a shirt that says, "I'm the big brother" that he loves. Now he loves to help hold the bottle to feed her and will sing to her when she is in her swing and tells everyone that he has a new baby sister. He says "I just love Marissa, I am glad we got her!" He is very particular about what he will do to help out though-he is in charge of getting clean diapers ONLY! According to him, it is not his job to take the dirty diapers and put them in the trash!

Cute! Siblings are so good for each other. It is so amazing to me how the other kids react when a new one is brought home. Personality changes and all!
:)
Hope last night was fun!

Xander is so funny. He is going to be a great big brother. I'm glad you ended up getting home alright; sounded like you had to go through quite an ordeal! I'm sure you're glad to finally be home and settled. She's such a beautiful baby.
Sounds like you had an interesting trip home! I am glad you guys made it back okay and that Stacy was there to help you! Marissa is quite the beauty and we are excited to see more of her and Xander as they grow!
What an adventure you had getting her home! I am glad Xander is enjoying life as an older brother. It is so fun to watch them get to know each other. I am sure when she starts flashing her smiles at him he'll be her best protector!
Sorry your trip home was so awful! Looks like the kids are adjusting well. Hope things are still going good. Take Care!
I was wondering about the whole Xander meeting Marissa ordeal. Love how he thought she messed up his cars--I'm sure that's the begining of many "mom, Marissa touched my stuff!"
